Terms of Use
By using genxdetention.club (the “Site”), submitting a form, checking in to The Bench, or booking a guest time, you agree to these Terms. Contact: james@genxdetention.club.
The short version
This is a show and peer community site. Be respectful. Don’t submit anything illegal or harmful. Guest spots and Bench posts are not guaranteed. Nothing here is therapy, medical, or legal advice.
Eligibility
The Site is intended for adults. If you are under 18, use it only with a parent or guardian’s involvement where required by law.
Not professional advice / not a crisis service
Content on the Site, in our shows, and in The Bench is entertainment and peer conversation only. It is not therapy, counseling, medical, mental-health, or legal advice. The Bench forms are not monitored emergency services. If you are in crisis or danger, call or text 988 (US) or local emergency services.
Your submissions
- You confirm what you submit is yours to share, or you have permission to share it.
- You won’t submit content that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, or that intentionally exposes private people to harm.
- For guest conversations: you grant us permission to record, edit, and publish audio/video and related clips on our channels (YouTube, socials, etc.), unless we agree otherwise in writing before recording.
- For The Bench: if you mark a check-in OK to post, we may share it in our private peer group with your nickname. If you mark No, we won’t post it as a normal check-in.
- We may refuse, edit, or remove submissions or bookings that don’t fit the show, violate these Terms, or create safety/legal risk.
Booking a guest time
Self-serve scheduling uses Microsoft Bookings (embedded on our Site or on Microsoft’s page). A booking request or confirmed slot does not guarantee an episode air date. Please cancel or reschedule in Bookings (or email us) if you can’t make it. No-shows may lose priority for a future seat.
Accounts and third-party services
Booking, email delivery, hosting, and recording may use third parties (including Cloudflare, Web3Forms, Microsoft, and Riverside). Their terms and privacy policies apply to their services. Problems on those platforms are outside our full control.
Intellectual property
Site design, logos, and our original show materials belong to GenX Detention Club / the operators. Don’t copy the Site wholesale or pass our branding off as your own. You’re responsible for any media you send us that you don’t own.
Acceptable use
- No scraping, spam, or attempts to break or overload the Site.
- No using forms to send malware, phishing, or mass unsolicited messages.
- No impersonating another person in a guest or Bench submission.
Disclaimers
The Site is provided “as is.” We don’t promise uninterrupted access, perfect accuracy, or that every submission will get a reply or a seat on the show.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, GenX Detention Club and its hosts are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Site, forms, Bench check-ins, bookings, or show content. Some places don’t allow certain limits — in those places, our liability is limited to the maximum permitted.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of content you submit or your misuse of the Site, to the extent allowed by law.
Changes
We may update these Terms. The Effective date will change when we do. Continued use means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer laws in your location say otherwise.
