Privacy Policy
This policy explains how GenX Detention Club (“we,” “us”) handles information on genxdetention.club and related show tools (guest intake, Mad Libs, The Bench check-in, and booking). Contact: james@genxdetention.club.
Who we are
GenX Detention Club is a show and community project hosted by Jim (and Todd). We are not a clinic, therapist, law firm, or crisis service.
What we collect
- Guest Guide / Mad Libs: name, email, phone (if you give it), timezone, school/year, story and prep answers, availability, live/camera preferences, and related notes you submit.
- The Bench check-in: nickname/display name, check-in text, optional mood, whether we may post in the private group, and a yes/no crisis question used only to show help resources — not as a monitored hotline.
- Booking: when you use Microsoft Bookings (embedded on our site or via Microsoft’s booking page), Microsoft processes your name, email, phone, and appointment details under Microsoft’s terms for that service.
- Technical: standard web logs and security data from our host (Cloudflare) such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested.
How we use information
- Schedule and produce guest conversations (including host prep and calendar booking).
- Email you about your submission, booking, or follow-up.
- For The Bench: review check-ins and, if you said yes, post into our private peer group.
- Improve the site and prevent spam or abuse.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who processes data for us
- Cloudflare — hosts the website.
- Web3Forms — delivers form submissions to our email inbox.
- Microsoft 365 / Bookings — booking calendar and related mail under our genxdetention.club Microsoft account.
- Riverside (and similar) — recording when you join a session we schedule.
- Social platforms (YouTube, Facebook, X, etc.) when you use those services directly — their own policies apply.
The Bench and crisis note
The Bench is peer support only — not therapy, medical, or legal advice, and not monitored as an emergency line. If you indicate you are in immediate danger, the site shows crisis resources (including 988 in the US). We do not treat form submissions as a substitute for calling emergency services.
Cookies and analytics
The site itself is a simple static site. Cloudflare may set cookies needed for security and delivery. Embedded Microsoft Bookings may set Microsoft cookies required to run the booking widget. We do not run third-party ad trackers on these pages.
How long we keep data
Guest and booking details are kept as long as needed to produce the show, honor bookings, and keep production notes (for example Trello/host briefs). Bench check-ins are kept long enough to review and (if approved) post; we may delete older check-ins when they are no longer needed. You can email us to request deletion of a submission we still control.
Your choices
- Skip optional fields on forms.
- Email us to correct or delete information you sent, or to ask what we hold.
- For Microsoft Bookings data, you may also use tools Microsoft provides for that appointment.
Children
The site and shows are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Effective” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
